Lower front mounts are heated and bent to connect at rear pegs. Muffler also has been heated at the front flange and bent downward about 4" at the tip.
January 27, 2010: Frantically finishing the mountings for the new Seahorse SE720 side cases. Bandit gets a quick bath.
Side case mounting brackets modified to fit the Bandit get a fresh coat of paint.
U-bar locks are fastened to the cases with 1" conduit clamps.

Mountings are reinforced with aluminum inside the cases.

Mounting hardware is reinforced inside with 1.5" aluminum.
Performix PLASTI DIP is a great coating for the hardware. It seals bolt holes well also.
The tank box u-bar is coated with Plasti-dip.

Here's a quick fuel bottle mounting rig. These 1 litre Brunton bottles paid for themselves the first trip. ( and yes I ran out of gas )

The Seahorse SE-720 is lighter, yet slightly larger than the early design Pelican 1500 and has accommodations for two padlocks.
The pad eyes are attached with tee nuts. Internal supports of flat aluminum hold countersunk flathead bolts.

I dunked the tee nuts in Plasti Dip. I love PLASTI DIP!
